St. Jude Half Marathon Training: Week 13 Plan

Standard

Exactly 3 months from this weekend I’ll be running in the race….seems like plenty of time right?  Doesn’t May feel like it was just here too?  So although I didn’t manage to run Red River this week, I think last week’s increase in mileage was a good step towards getting back into training.  This week I’ll take another step and add the specific timing back into the equation.

26 miles!

So this week I return to my program from the book Run Less, Run Faster and also hope to get regular strength and cross training back in the mix (haven’t y’all heard that before?!)

Week 13 Training

Monday: River Road Run (6 miles at 8:30 pace)

Tuesday: Taco Run and Core Workout at Texas Running Co

Wednesday: Cross Training

Thursday: Track Run (10-20 minute warm-up, 3×1600 @ 7:27 w/ 1 minute rest intervals, 10 minute cool-down)

Friday: Long run (9 miles @ 8:53)

Saturday/Sunday: One rest day and one cross training day

So, we’ll see how all that goes!  I’m so glad it’s going to be 100 degrees everyday this week, that makes all of this really easy to look forward to….

Happy long weekend y’all 🙂
