Good morning! Happy Monday! Maybe you’re feeling a little sluggish this morning because you stayed up too late watching the Grammys? I skipped the Grammys in favor of my pillow and am looking forward to catching up on all the winners today!
Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.
Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up.
It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you’d better be running.
Also every morning in Africa, my best friend Audrey wakes up. And she apparently has added running to her routine there as well! When she told me this in our WhatsApp (a cool iPhone and Blackberry app that lets iPhones and Blackberry users text for free – even when they’re across an ocean!) convo last night I was ecstatic. I’ve got all my college roomies running now! Here’s a little excerpt from our convo:
A: Jess, I’ve been getting up and running at 5am here, I feel like I’m channeling you 🙂
J: That makes me so happy! I’ll think of you on my run tomorrow!
A: It’s really nice……I go right as the sun is rising, and it’s cool. And I always think I’m going to see zebras and giraffes lol.
You make me proud girl! If you can get up and run in the African countryside, I surely will run around Memphis – no hope for zebras or giraffes though!
