Newsday Tuesday – Run Ranger Run

Standard

There are plenty of reasons to challenge yourself to a running streak like mine.  Weight loss.  Commitment issues.  Fun challenge. Insanity.  Race training.

And then there are those like Ranger Cory Smith who take it to the next level.  Ranger Smith is part of an awareness campaign happening right now.  His challenge is to run from Columbus, GA to Indianapolis, IN.  In less than a month.  (That’s 565 miles!!)  He is taking on this challenge for a few reasons – 1. to get home to his newborn daughter, 2. to raise awareness of the struggle many veterans experience during their transition after service.

Talk about precious

He is currently on Day 14 in Chattanooga, TN!

Just on the other side of the state

If you’d like to read more about his story – click here.  There are several ways you can support his monumental effort – 1. see if he comes through your town and run with him! 2. Make a donation to his cause, The Gallant Few.

I have never met Ranger Smith and they did not ask me to post about this.  A friend told me to check out his cause on Facebook and I was inspired by his commitment to running for a cause and wanted to share his story with y’all!  Please do not feel obligated to donate, but here’s to hoping you’re a little inspired to run today 🙂

Happy Tuesday!
